Buenos Aires Argentina
Overview
Buenos Aires, on the Río de la Plata, is South America's liveliest capital, with European-style boulevards, tango halls and steakhouses. Colourful neighbourhoods, bookshops, museums and late-night life are easy to explore on foot. It is also close to day trips such as the Tigre delta and Colonia in Uruguay.
Getting around
The Subte (metro) and buses use the SUBE card, which you can buy and top up at kiosks. The Subte is fast downtown, while taxis and ride-hailing apps are handy at night. From Ezeiza (EZE) airport, a transfer or taxi to the city takes about an hour.
